Bankbuddy is playful and engaging digital product allowing families to prosper in a cashless society. It aims to help primary school children learn the value of goal setting and reap the benefits of watching their savings grow whilst empowering them to thrive through financial independence.
This was a conceptual product design project imagined as part of Bank of Queensland's digital offerings. As a highly targeted product, the process was thorough focusing on the needs, goals and motivations of families.
Design Process
1. Customer research & personas
As a part of my research I completed user surveys and informal feedback sessions. From these insights a primary and secondary customer persona was conceptualised.
2. App architecture & feedback
The structure and flow of the app was co-designed with parents and children to ensure their needs, goals and requirements were met. This step provided the foundation of a persona use-case that informed the wireframing and prototyping phases.
3. Wireframes and feedback
4. UI design
To engage primary school aged children, the interface needed to be playful, simple and accessible to users of a wide-range of abilities. BOQ’s branding was taken into account to maintain consistency with the organisations current image and product offerings.
5. Marketing Collateral
